Joan River’s Penthouse

Twenty-five years and just as many plastic surgeries ago, Joan River purchased a 5,190-square-foot duplex penthouse in the Upper East Side. That condominium, which is complete with a garden, atop a newly converted 42-foot-wide 1903 mansion in the East 60s just off Fifth Avenue, has been restored, including what had once been the double-height ballroom. This week, that property hit the market for $25 million. The recent restorations are courtesy “museum-trained artisans,” according to a new listing by Roberta Golubock of Sotheby’s International Realty. The apartment’s formal dining room and ornately paneled library overlook a south-facing terrace. The three bedrooms include a master bedroom suite looking out over a second terrace with Central Park views. She put the apartment on the market because she is planning to spend more of her time on the West Coast with her daughter and her grandson, Ms. Golubock said to the New York Times.
