When A Villa Is Not Enough
By Christina Bohnstengel

With more than 1,800 H&M fashion apparel stores worldwide, what more could Swedish owner Stefan Persson want for? As the 16th richest man in the world, with estimated wealth valued at £11.4 billion, his own personal English village might be nice.
Reports indicate that Persson is spending £25 million on the English village of Linkenholt, located near Andover. The area encompasses 1,500 acres of land, 425 acres of forest, and a cricket field. A neo-baroque castle and 21 weekend homes make up the quaint, countryside village. Linkenholt was originally owned by Herbert Blagrave, who died in the 1970s with no heir, thereby leaving the rights to the village in a charitable trust. Residents are hoping to stay on in their current homes and continue with normal life.
Perrson’s father, Erling founded H&M (which stands for Hennes & Mauritz) in 1947.
